Looe
It's only a 5 minute drive to the seaside and fishing town of Looe with its shops, pubs and many small restaurants that serve excellent evening meals.
There's a good local taxi service if you want to leave the car at home and go out for the evening in Looe or Polperro.
Looe is an estuary town with a fishing harbour and sandy beach. Boat trips and fishing trips can be arranged at the quayside.
There are riverside and woodland walks at Kilminorth Woods upriver from the town.
Looe has an 18 hole golf course and if your family enjoys swimming, there's a heated indoor pool a few minutes drive from Hendersick House.
Talland Bay
Talland Bay, renowned for it's scenery and its history of smuggling is just down the lane from Hendersick House. The Smuggler's Rest, Talland Bay does BBQ food. Positioned in a field overlooking the sea it's a great place to relax with a beer and take in the view. Further along there is a beach-side cafe with outdoor and beach hut seating. Cream teas, ice cream, pasties, cakes and coffee.
Polperro
The neighbouring village of Polperro 3 miles away with its tiny fishing harbour and picturesque cottages is well worth a visit.
